Clarification on Best in Tents and Camp Goat Energy Partnership for Burning Man 2024:
Burning Man is a unique, anti-capitalist society that thrives on a culture free from money and branding. At Best in Tents, we deeply respect and honor these principles. We understand the liberating and healing experience that Burning Man’s gift culture offers, and we are committed to facilitating this experience for all Burners.
Our Burning Man camping rental package is akin to renting a U-Haul, RV, or any other equipment outside of the festival. It is strictly an equipment rental transaction that occurs outside the festival, and you choose to bring the rental into the festival. To align with Burning Man’s principles, we provide equipment that is free from brands and logos whenever possible. In addition, no money will be handled on the playa, in strict adherence to Burning Man’s principles. These policies are all firm, and no exceptions will be made as to respect the culture of Burning Man.
To ensure this process is in harmony with Burning Man’s culture, we have partnered with Camp Goat Energy. Camp Goat Energy, who is also renting equipment from us, exemplifies how Burners should live and respect the Burning Man principles, each other, and the playa. They have graciously decided to gift the transportation of these Burning Man camping rental packages to the playa for anyone who needs it. Additionally, Camp Goat Energy will be present to teach participants how to use, set up, and break down the equipment. However, ALL BURNERS ARE EXPECTED TO SET UP AND BREAK DOWN THEIR OWN CAMPS, as well as assist fellow campers with their setups and breakdowns upon arrival and departure. Camp Goat Energy will also facilitate covering any logos or brands that may be exposed on the equipment to respect the festival’s culture.
This transportation service is one of many gifts that Camp Goat Energy is offering to all Burners this year. They will also provide free WiFi, electricity, showers (please bring your own water and a container to pack out your grey water), a clothing exchange, and free messages from the universe at specified times.

Burning Man Camping Rental Pick-Up and Return Information:
Burning Man Camping Rental Pick-Up: Camp Goat Energy is gifting the transportation of your Burning Man camping rental package to the playa. Upon arrival at Camp Goat Energy, [Camp Coordinates will be announced once we arrive], you will be welcomed and guided to your designated camping spot to pick up your equipment. Assistance will be available to help with setting up your equipment, but you are encouraged to learn and then teach others, promoting radical self-reliance and communal effort.
Burning Man Camping Rental Return: Responsibility for the equipment ends upon your departure from the campsite. Remember to pack out all MOOP (Matter Out of Place) and ensure no trace is left behind. Equipment return is required by 12 PM on September 3rd, 2024.
Optional Meet-Up for Coordinated Entry:
We recommend that you enter with Camp Goat Energy to ensure a smooth equipment pick-up process. The meet-up details are as follows. Please note, this is optional and not required:

Skipping/Missing the Meet-Up:
- Missing the Meet-Up: If you miss the meet-up or opt to not enter with Camp Goat Energy, you will need to locate Camp Goat Energy inside the playa, which may be challenging due to unreliable signals.
- Finding the Camp: Camp Goat Energy will text you the coordinates of their camp once they enter the festival and secure a spot. Because spots are not assigned prior to entry unless the camp is registered as an official Burning Man camp, coordinates will be unavailable until they gain entry. Camp Goat Energy will put up flags/signs to make their camp easier to find once you are close.
- Responsibility: You are responsible for finding their camp to acquire your Burning Man camping rental package. No refunds will be given to guests who are unable to find Camp Goat Energy to pick up their equipment. Camp Goat Energy will be connected to strong Wi-Fi and will be available to help you find their camp throughout the entirety of the festival. It is your responsibility to find an area with reliable signal so that you can contact them and have them assist you finding your camp.

- Spacious Canvas Tent: Enjoy a roomy 7×7 feet canvas tent Tipi with a height of 8 feet.
- Secure Lock: Keep your belongings safe with a secure lock for added privacy.
- Comfortable Bedding: Sleep soundly on an 18-inch thick queen-sized air mattress with premium sheets and a plush queen-sized blanket.
- Unique Touches: Experience the added comfort of a handmade outdoor-use blanket from Mexico (for floor).
- Outdoor Seating: Relax in two (2) comfortable camping chairs.
- Convenient Amenities: Utilize a small table for holding drinks and small items, and a 36-quart ice chest on wheels.
- Shade and Protection: Stay cool under a 10×10 UV-resistant canopy (mesh walls available upon request).
- Ventilation and Lighting: Enjoy a 6-inch rechargeable electric fan and color-changing lights for ambiance.
- Power Supply: Charge your devices with a power supply unit featuring 2 power outlets and 4 USB outlets, powered by a large solar panel.
- Bicycle: A 27-speed mountain bike with options for 26-inch and 27.5-inch rims for easy transportation around the playa.

- Shared Kitchen Area: Use our cooking area, complete with grill stoves, cooking pans, and utensils.

- Shower Facilities: Access to a shared shower is available. Remember you are responsible for bringing your own water and managing your grey water responsibly by bringing containers for disposal.

- Radical Self-Reliance: This is not a “plug and play” service. You are responsible for setting up your own Burning Man Camping Rental, adhering to Burning Man’s principle of radical self-reliance.
- Leave No Trace: Ensure you pack out all grey water and MOOP. Bring appropriate containers for your grey water.
- Community Effort: After receiving assistance with your Burning Man Camping Rental, we encourage you to help others, fostering a sense of community and mutual aid.
- Decommodification: Camp Goat Energy operates on a gift culture. While the rental package is facilitated through Best in Tents, all interactions and services at the camp are gifted.
- Ticket and Passes: You are responsible for purchasing your own Burning Man tickets and vehicle passes. Passes are NOT included with your Burning Man camping rental.
Civic Responsibility:
Camp Goat Energy takes on the civic responsibility of ensuring all equipment is safe and prepared for adverse weather conditions. They also have surplus equipment on hand to replace any items that might break or malfunction.
